Resource Management

As well as optimising transport schedules to create efficient route plans, Paragon software can also help manage the all-important transport resources that are needed to execute these plans. This enables transport managers to store information about individual drivers, vehicles, tractors and trailers, and hence to manage these resources effectively. In addition to defining the available drivers and assets, including diaries of maintenance schedules and holiday plans, users can also set up the shift patterns worked by each driver. This information is used to set up the individual resources available to the Paragon planning system, and allocate appropriate resources to each load.

As the plan is executed, delays or changes may necessitate changing an allocated driver or fleet resource to avoid loss of efficiency. These decisions can be made with full visibility of their impact on the plan, backed up by Paragon's routing and scheduling intelligence.

Once the plan has been completed and executed, the actual work completed by each driver and asset is recorded, and a range of reports can be generated to highlight performance and utilisation, including reports showing Working Time Directive compliance.
