Territory Optimizer is designed to help logistics and field service companies who need to divide their delivery or service regions into balanced, compact zones. Before detailed routes and schedules can be calculated in such operations, it is often necessary to divide each region into zones which are both compact and ensure even workloads. Each zone could represent the workload for a specific driver, day of the week, or both.
Territory Optimizer defines compact territories which minimize inter-call travel times and provide each driver with the right level of work each day, at the same time enabling them to become totally familiar with both their area and customer base. It also uses true road-based journey calculations, taking account of highways and rivers, for example, to accurately calculate transportation workloads and the compactness of each territory.
As a result, it is particularly well-suited to distribution, service and sales organizations in which individual areas may only need to be visited or serviced perhaps once a week or which include a wide range of call frequencies, or where customers need to be serviced by a regular driver. These include home delivery and wholesale businesses and associated 3PLs, van sales, work wear rental, washroom and hygiene or similar services, field service organizations and sales territory planning.
