Home delivery solutions company Axida has incorporated Paragon Software Systems’ continuous route and delivery time-slot optimisation within its intelligent Axida HDi home delivery system. This unique, advanced system manages complex home deliveries where the customer needs to be at home to accept the delivery.
Axida HDi calculates possible deliveries, presenting a selection of available time-slots to the customer from which they pick the one that best suits them. Designed to provide comprehensive benefits to retailers, the system increases customer satisfaction, boosts delivery performance and improves resource use.
By integrating Paragon’s software, the system further improves delivery efficiency as the system automatically re-optimises delivery routes and schedules as customers place new orders. With this live delivery planning feature, retailers and logistics providers will be able to offer customers the most carbon-efficient and cost-effective delivery windows.
“Axida HDi brings visibility to complex home delivery operations, enabling a significantly higher percentage of successful first-time deliveries within the promised time window. In addition, it increases the number of drops for each route, which lowers the cost of delivery. These improvements also reduce the home delivery carbon footprint through better use of resources,” says Wayne Holgate, Axida Director.
The system orchestrates the full end to end process to provide accurate and achievable delivery schedules. As well as delivery date and time selection, the software also offers other benefits. These include multichannel order capture, comprehensive order management, and day of delivery tracking. The system also provides delivery debriefing in batch or online mode using wireless hand-held computers, workflow management for handling order exceptions to streamline remedial action, contact management, warehouse management and management reports.
“With Axida HDi, our retail and logistics clients can offer the most advanced, optimised and efficient home delivery services available in the UK. The retailer or transport operator can use the system to reach the appropriate balance between service levels and costs. It optimises their resources, cuts CO2 and improves customer service. We have a long relationship with Paragon Software Systems and by incorporating the company’s routing and time-slot optimisation software within Axida HDi, we enhance our clients’ ability to provide successful first-time deliveries that are both cost-effective and convenient for their customers,” says Wayne Holgate.
