In the five years Ryder BrandsMart has relied on Paragon software for its complex and variable Florida-based home delivery operation, the system has maintained consistently high efficiency levels throughout seasonal peaks and significant growth. During this time, the operation has doubled in size while planning time has been more than halved.
Paragon produces daily route plans for up to 70 vehicles delivering as many as 1,000 electrical appliances a day to homes stretching from Cocoa Beach to Key West. Delivery addresses and order details are downloaded into Paragon each day where they are geocoded to street level, incorrect addresses are highlighted and corrected, and the deliveries are scheduled automatically.
The loads are then released to the warehouse and customers are advised of approximate delivery times. The daily planning process is much quicker and easier than with previous manual methods, taking one planner a fraction of the time it took before.
