Linde Malaysia has become the latest organisation within The Linde Group to deploy Paragon’s routing and scheduling software, further optimising its expanding cylinder business’ distribution operations in the Peninsular Malaysia, and at the same time, contributing to Linde Malaysia’s operational priorities in transport safety and customer service standards.

The company leverages the logistics planning software to better coordinate its fleet of rigid trucks operating from 6 locations, for more than 5,000 monthly deliveries of a wide range of packaged gases and chemicals.

Moving forward, Linde will use the multi-drop route planning software to create highly-efficient schedules. Paragon’s Route Execution module will integrate the routing and scheduling software with the real-time live data feed from Linde’s certified In-Vehicle Management System (IVMS) provided by Astrata Group, a global telematics business. This will enable complete visibility of how resources are progressing in real-time against the day’s plan, so Linde can monitor the distribution operation and ensure deliveries are on time. As a result, the company will be able to keep customers up-to-date on the status of their deliveries, as well as to measure performance, ensure safety and compliance, and identify areas of improvement.

Hendrick Wong, Bulk & Cylinder Scheduling Manager at Linde Malaysia commented: “Planning and designing highly efficient delivery schedules is pertinent for the safety of our drivers when they are despatched for deliveries, that they are sent on the safest possible delivery routes and schedule. This then in turn translates to timely and accurate deliveries to customers. With Paragon, we are able to plan ahead with greater accuracy and provide next-day delivery for the large proportion of orders. The seamless integration with our enterprise and telematics systems will enable the business to plan and operate better, for safety and for our customers.”

Si-Choong Ng, Head of Bulk & Cylinder Scheduling for Linde’s regional business in South Asia and ASEAN added: “The system provides clear visibility comparing plan and actual route details. This allows the operation teams to identify the gaps, and consequently the improvement measures. This will facilitate our organisation’s continuous improvement culture and programmes in the areas of safety, productivity and customer experience. Successful implementation in Malaysia, as the first country in this region to do so, will open the door for our businesses in the other countries already working with the Paragon workbench to consider adopting the same in future so as to leverage the benefits.”

William Salter, Managing Director of Paragon Software Systems said: “Linde Malaysia is one of 38 countries within The Linde Group to adopt our routing and scheduling software since we were chosen as partner of choice for their worldwide cylinder operation. It is a requisite for any business unit looking to achieve High Performance Organisation status, which is designed to help share best practice to achieve sustainable optimisation and productivity gains globally.”

“Malaysia is the first Linde country in South East Asia to take advantage of Paragon’s Route Execution software module. This follows recent implementations in Brazil and Colombia, having previously been adopted in the UK, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Baltics, Germany, US and Canada.”
