Konzum, the Croatia based retailer and part of Agrokor group, one of the East Europe region’s leading retail groups, has selected Paragon’s routing software to standardise daily planning operations.

By optimising transport planning through the adoption of Paragon routing software, Konzum/Agrokor aims to cut costs, drive greater efficiencies, improve the company’s environmental performance and enhance customer service.

Initially, Paragon routing software will be used to replace manual planning at Konzum, Croatia’s largest supermarket chain which operates six depots and 200 vehicles delivering ambient, fresh and dairy products and non-foods to 700 stores. Konzum’s transport director, Ivan Šantorić, confirms: “In looking at providers of transport optimisation and execution software, we found that Paragon stood head and shoulders above the competition.”

“In particular, its strong track record and unrivalled experience in working with major grocery retailers in the UK and around the world, together with its clear understanding of our markets, gave us the confidence that the Paragon solution would ideally meet Agrokor’s demanding and complex requirements.”

William Salter, Paragon Managing Director adds: “We are delighted that Konzum/Agrokor has chosen Paragon routing software to help streamline its retail transport operations. This further extends our global footprint in the retail sector, which includes all of the UK’s top five grocery chains, as well as other retail clients in continental Europe, Asia and North America.”

Looking ahead, Agrokor plans to deploy Paragon’s Route Execution software, linked with a local tracking supplier, to enable Paragon’s optimised route schedules to be tracked in real time.
