Paragon Software Systems has added real-time reporting and mobile messaging to its range of routing and scheduling solutions. Integrated NAVMAN Wireless satellite tracking gives a live view of the fleet’s performance against planned routes and provides customers with delivery updates using text messages. Traditionally companies tend to offer relatively broad time windows but with Paragon Route Execution text message functionality customers no longer need to wait around for their delivery as they can be forewarned that the goods are on the way. If the delivery vehicle is running late transport managers can also inform the customer that there is a delay, which also helps ensure good customer relations.

“With the built-in messaging functionality of Route Execution, the transport management team can enhance a company’s frontline customer services. Text messages direct to the customer take away guesswork and avoid frustration over delivery times. It means that customers are able to have a clearer picture of when they can expect their delivery and having accurate information also enhances the accuracy of the transport plan,” says William Salter, Paragon’s Managing Director. “Transport managers will be able to see precisely how long it takes to make each delivery and adjust the plan accordingly.”

Route Execution integrates with Paragon’s route optimisation systems, analysing vehicle location and status information via real-time satellite communications. With this highly accurate information, the transport planners are able to analyse the true delivery performance against key performance indicators, enabling them to improve customer service, operational management and driver productivity.
