Cold chain organizations must reduce transportation costs to free up funds for regulatory investments and to reduce cost to serve

Paragon is taking part in an upcoming Food Logistics’  magazine Cold Chain Webinar featuring industry expert panelists. Experts from Paragon, Infratab and Port Logistics Refrigerated Services will discuss how an integrated global cold chain requires high-level performance from ports, 3PLs, cold storage operators, transportation providers, software and technology vendors. In addition, Paragon will describe how transportation planning and modeling of transportation operations allows organizations to cut costs, streamline resource utilization, balance workloads and optimize distribution networks for lower cost to serve.

Paragon’s Support Director, Phil Ingham, will be leading the discussion for Paragon. Phil heads up Paragon’s support and implementation team, helping clients to reduce their cost to serve. He has played a vital role in reducing transport overheads at the UK’s top four supermarkets and major US multi-temperature operations. He has worked alongside management consultancies to implement large-scale change management projects, enabling clients to transform their supply chain operations, and takes a lead role for Paragon in China where he is currently engaged with a number of cold chain operations.

Drawing on over 30 years’ experience in advising grocery stores, 3PLs and food manufacturers, Paragon’s Support Director, Phil Ingham, will discuss how Cold Chain operators can improve responses to the supply chain challenges they are facing. “With changing consumer buying habits and increased customer service demands, transportation operations are forced to alter the way they do business to survive but also to prosper,” explains Ingham. “Managing regulatory changes, retaining drivers and maximizing utilization of both trucks and drivers are all essential to uncovering the savings that will allow Cold Chain operators to invest in the technology they need to succeed but also to comply with the ELD Mandate and FSMA.”

“Transportation planners responsible for distributing fresh and frozen food use Paragon’s routing and scheduling software to ensure deliveries arrive on time and food is transported safely and cost efficiently,” said William Salter, CEO, Paragon Software Systems. “Delivering the right product at the right time requires coordination of temperature-controlled assets, store restrictions, driver availability, delivery cycles and trip times. Our clients across the USA and beyond use Paragon to plan complex delivery schedules, creating more accurate plans that result in improved on-time deliveries and fully stocked store shelves ready for when customers want to make their purchases.”
