Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, has selected Paragon Software Systems as a recipient of an SDCE 100 Award for 2018.
The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 great supply chain projects. Paragon’s winning entry was its implementation of routing and scheduling automation software with Marigolds & Onions, one of the leading catering and event planning businesses in Toronto, Canada.
Marigolds & Onions provides catering services to a growing number of private and corporate clients and, as transport planning became increasingly complex, the company recognized the need for a solution to automate this process. Upon implementation of Paragon’s Single Depot software, they received benefits that include:
- Cost per individual order has gone down 9.25% for delivery charges.
- Fuel costs are down 11%, saving $3,000 to $5,000 per month.
- Labor is down 9%.
- Automated routing has removed up to one route per day from the delivery schedule, cut expedited courier use by 50%, and reduced delivery labor by 20%, saving $15,000 per month.
